Josef Bermudez  his family departed Santa Cruz, Tenerife on the Frigate San Ignacio de Loyola on October 29, 1778 destined for Louisiana.
The family arrived in the settlement of Galveztown and received supplies on March 27, 1779.
Ship: San Ignacio de Loyola
Note: There is a note on the supply list ” A Daughter died on September 3, 1779″.
Note: In the New Orleans Archdiocese (Vol. 4 1784-1790), there is a birth record record as follows. BERMUDES (BERMUDEZ) – Catharina Antonia (Josef and Maria Ramirez, natives of the Canary Islands), b. Apr. 20, 1786, bn. Mar. 27, 1786, s. Miguel SAEZ and Ysbael VIERA, natives of the Canary Islands (SBGAL, B4, 8).
